Ancestry library edition
Ancestry Library Edition is a genealogy research tool that provides
instant access to a wide range of unique genealogical and historical
resources. You can access more than 1.5 billion names in over 4,000
databases. This database can be accessed only on-site at the Shell
Lake Public Library or other libraries that are part of the NWLS
service area. The Shell Lake Watchman and Washburn
County Register was/is the local newspaper of Shell Lake.
Microfilms of the papers are available at the Shell Lake Public
Library.

Lakes Visitor Center
Census, naturalization, and other records can be found
at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Their archival records represent collections from nine counties in
