•The Sawyer
Creek Trails
The Sawyer Creek trails are
located at the headwaters to Sawyer Creek on City, DNR and School property
on the north side of town. The trails can be used for walking,
cycling, skiing and snowshoes. The trails are hilly, and at this time,
they are not mowed or groomed.
You are welcome to park near the Indianhead Arts Center and use the trails
(NO motorized use!).
Click here for a map of the trails.
•Wildcat Mountain Bike Trails
Started in 2007, a new group of
single and double track off-road bicycle trails are in the process of
being built about 6 miles east of Shell Lake in Washburn County Forest
Unit 22.

•Spooner City
Trails
There is a set of bike/hike/ski
trails located in Spooner's City Park about 7 miles north of Shell Lake.
These trails are groomed for skiing in the winter and maintained for
mountain bikes in the summer. Call
Riverbrook Bike and Ski for more
information on these trails.
•CAMBA Trails
The
CAMBA Off-Road Bike Trail System consists of over 300 miles of marked and
mapped routes through a wilderness of striking beauty and peaceful
solitude. The trails lie in and around the beautiful
Chequamegon National Forest as well as in Bayfield and Sawyer County
Forests - nearly a million acres in which to ride your fat tire bike. Of
this, CAMBA has adopted an area of approximately 1,600 square miles. The
system is divided into six clusters, each with one or more trail heads. An
overview area map of the entire system indicating the location of each
cluster as well as other rideable gravel and on-road paved routes is
available. More detailed maps of each cluster with trail routes and
navigational narratives are also available at area bike shops and chambers
of commerce or directly from CAMBA. See
www.cambatrails.org
for more information. These are some of the best off-road
bike trails in the mid-west!
